According to CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Bhushan Gagrani, the first flight from the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport was expected to take off in 2019.
Strategic location
The Navi Mumbai International Airport aims to ease congestion at Mumbai’s existing Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Located on National Highway 4B near Panvel, it is about 35 km away from the current airport.
Impressive capacity and design
- Terminal area: approximately 2,700,000 sq ft
- Cargo area: approximately 1,100,000 sq ft
First phase to handle up to 10 million passengers annually. This makes it the largest airport of its kind in the country.
The terminal will be built uniquely in the middle of both runways, offering complete access from either side. The approach road will offer breathtaking views of the airport on both sides. The presence of large water bodies in the vicinity will add to the scenic beauty of the airport, making it a visually appealing starting point for any journey.
Impact on real estate and lifestyle
Thanks to this major infrastructural boost, commercial and residential growth in Panvel is expected to soar.
